SCDTG : Syndicat des Commissionnaires en Douane et Transitaires de la Guadeloupe
The SCDTG was created in 1956 by clearing agents aware of the need to defend the interests of their profession and guarantee their level of competence. Since then, the profession has experienced significant changes : containerization on its appearance in the 1970's, computerization of customs declarations by by the SOFI in 1993 and connection of each operator with the customs computer centre at Cergy Pontoise in France, and in 2003 with the creation of ADEMAR+, the maritime, port and customs computerized data exchange platform, operated by CEI.BA SA. In compliance with its statutes, the SCDTG was able, at each step, to anticipate and adapt by poviding the raining required and by participating in the creation of structuring tools (Collective Customs Clearance Units and CEIBA.SA) essential for the sector's computer developments. Currently, nineteen forwarding and clearing agents are members of the SCDTG, representing 80 % of the exchanges. The SCDTG has become the key contact for the partner administrations and institutions, and its representatives are involved in numerous managerial bodies. The SCDTG is a member of the federation Transport et Logistique de France (TLF), and of the SICODOM which includes the unions of clearing agents in the French overseas departments. It is also an ex officio member of UMEP where it holds the vice presidency.
